Kathak heartbeat

The grand hall was silent except for the sound of Vedika’s feet tapping on the polished floor. The audience watched in awe as she danced—each movement telling a story of joy and love. Her bangles shined with every turn, each one making a soft sound, like music from her soul.

Aniruddh sat quietly, watching Vedika dance. He had been in love with her since 5th grade, and they had been good friends. It was her last year of school, and tonight she danced like never before—so beautiful, so perfect. Every spin she made seemed to take her higher. Aniruddh felt like time stopped as he watched her, mesmerized by her beauty.

When her performance ended, the crowd cheered, and Aniruddh stood up, clapping for her. Vedika smiled brightly. She was happy, proud of herself.

Backstage, Vedika felt tears in her eyes. She had worked so hard. Aniruddh came to find her and saw her crying. She hugged him tightly.

“Thank you for always being there for me, Aniruddh,” she said, still crying. “You’re the only one who always comes to see me dance. My family never comes, but you always do.”

Flashback: Five Years Ago

When Aniruddh started seventh grade, he was a quiet student. Vedika, on the other hand, was popular in class. Aniruddh had a hidden talent—he loved writing stories and poems. But no one knew about it.

One day, the class teacher changed everyone's seats. Boys had to sit on the girls’ side and girls on the boys’ side. The whole class was shocked. Aniruddh and his best friend, Sham, were upset because they were separated. Sham was moved to the last row, and Aniruddh was placed in the second row, fifth bench.

Aniruddh’s new seat partner was a girl—Vedika. He frowned, "I don’t want to sit with a girl."

Vedika smiled. "Hi, I’m Vedika. Nice to meet you!"

Aniruddh hesitated but replied, "I’m Aniruddh Pathak. Nice to meet you too."

A Secret Between Them

The next day, Aniruddh came to class early to write in peace. But when he reached the classroom door, he saw someone dancing. He looked carefully—it was Vedika practicing Kathak.

He knocked. Vedika quickly stopped and looked scared. "Why are you here so early?" she asked.

"I should ask you the same!" Aniruddh replied.

Vedika sighed. "Promise me you won’t tell anyone. I love dancing, but my family doesn’t allow it."

Aniruddh smiled. "Only if you promise not to tell anyone that I love writing stories. I need silence to write."

Vedika grinned. "Deal!"

That day, they became friends. Whenever Vedika missed school, Aniruddh would write about her—about a girl who never gave up on her dream.

The Lost Notebook

One day, some boys found Aniruddh’s notebook and started teasing him. They threw it into Vedika’s bag and ran away laughing.

At home, Vedika found the notebook and read a story about a girl who wanted to dance no matter what. She was surprised—it was like her own life! She thought Aniruddh had put the notebook in her bag by mistake, so she wrote her phone number on one of the pages.

The next day, she returned the notebook. "Here, take your book," she said. "By the way, who put it in my bag?"

Aniruddh was confused. He opened the notebook and saw a phone number inside.

"Who wrote this?" he asked.

"I did," Vedika said. "If you need help, call me. I’ll always answer."

For the first time, a girl had given him her number. He felt happy and started talking to more people in class.

The School Competition

One day, the teacher announced, "There will be a drama and dance competition to build confidence. Give me your names if you want to participate."

Vedika was excited. "Finally! I can dance!" she said.

Aniruddh wasn’t sure. He had written a play, but he didn’t know if anyone would join him. Still, they both gave their names.

That evening, Aniruddh hesitated but finally called Vedika.

"Hello?" Vedika answered. "Who’s this?"

"It’s Aniruddh."

Vedika laughed. "Aniruddh! Your voice on the phone sounds like a girl!"

"Vedika, yaar, I’m serious. Don’t laugh!"

Aniruddh asked her to be in his drama, but she refused. "I’m in the dance competition. Find someone else," she said.

The next morning, Vedika found Aniruddh looking worried.

"What happened?" she asked.

"I need actors for my play," he said.

"I know two girls who love acting—Sariya and Manasvi!" she said.

Sariya and Manasvi came over.

Sariya smirked. "Okay, Aniruddh, tell us the story. If it’s boring, we’re leaving!"

Aniruddh smiled. "It’s about a girl who dreams of dancing, but the world is against her. A boy helps her fight for her dream."

Manasvi’s eyes lit up. "That’s a great story!"

Sariya nodded. "I like it! We’ll do it!"

For the first time, Aniruddh felt confident about his writing.

The Big Night

The competition was at 7 PM. The hall was full of excited students.

When Vedika’s turn came, the lights dimmed. A soft melody played, and she started dancing while singing:

Backstage, Aniruddh had tears in his eyes.

Sariya nudged him. "Why are you crying?"

Aniruddh smiled. "She’s dancing to my poem. She read it in my notebook and surprised me."

Manasvi grinned. "Wow! You both are like a perfect story."

Later, Aniruddh’s drama was performed. Vedika watched in shock.

After the event, she asked, "Why did you write a play about me?"

Aniruddh grinned. "Why did you use my poem for your dance?"

Manasvi laughed. "You both inspire each other more than you realize!"

Vedika smiled. "I think we do."

One Year Later

Now in ninth grade, Vedika was struggling. Her family wanted her to stop dancing and focus on studies. But Aniruddh was happy—he had finally finished his first full story.

One day at lunch, Vedika went to the canteen, but it was closed. She sighed and walked back to class.

Inside, she saw a crowd around Aniruddh. His hand was bleeding.

Sariya gasped. "Aniruddh! What happened?"

Vedika rushed forward. "Why is no one helping him? Someone call the teacher!"

Manasvi ran and brought the teacher. Soon, Aniruddh’s wound was treated.

Vedika asked, "Why didn’t you fight back?"

"I don’t like hurting people," Aniruddh replied.

Manasvi rolled her eyes. "Sometimes, you have to stand up for yourself!"

Later, Aniruddh noticed Vedika hadn’t eaten all day. He bought her a dabeli.

"You didn’t eat, right? Let’s eat together," he said.

Vedika smiled, taking a bite.

Manasvi teased, "See? This is why you two are best friends!"

And with that, their friendship grew even stronger.

Present Day

After the performance, they walked out of the hall. Vedika smiled at Aniruddh. “Thank you for coming tonight,” she said.

“I want to celebrate your success,” Aniruddh replied. “You were amazing.”

He had planned a small celebration for her, and during the party, Aniruddh decided it was time to share his feelings.

“Vedika,” he said, nervously. “I’ve always been here because I care about you... but I want to tell you something. I’ve always loved you.”

Vedika looked at him in surprise, then smiled. “I never knew, but I think I’ve always felt the same way.”

Aniruddh’s heart filled with joy. They spent the rest of the evening laughing and talking. And as they danced, they knew their hearts had always been in sync.

Finally, the competition day arrived. Vedika gave her best performance and won first place! She was so happy that she called Aniruddh immediately.

"I knew you would," Aniruddh replied. "I have a surprise for you when you return."

After three months, Vedika came back home as a champion. Aniruddh was waiting for her at the station with flowers. As soon as she saw him, she ran to him and hugged him.

"I missed you so much!" she said.

"I missed you too," Aniruddh replied, handing her a wrapped gift.

Vedika opened it and saw a book with her name on the cover. "You wrote a book about me?" she asked, surprised.

Vedika, on the other hand, was busy preparing for her next big Kathak performance. She had no idea about Aniruddh’s struggles, but she always felt at peace when he was around.

Aniruddh’s Surprise for Vedika

After months of hard work, Aniruddh saved enough money to publish Vedika’s book. But he wanted to do something bigger. He decided to start his own publishing company and named it V Publisher, inspired by Vedika.

One evening, he arranged a grand event to announce it. Vedika didn’t know anything about this. She thought he had only published her book.

The Big Moment

At the event, Aniruddh stood on stage and said, "Today, I am launching V Publisher, and the first book we publish is about Vedika!"

Vedika was shocked. She never imagined he would do something so big for her. When he handed her the first copy of the book, she was speechless.

With tears in her eyes, she hugged him. "You did all this… for me?"

Aniruddh smiled. "Your story deserves to be shared with the world."
Kathak’s Heartbeat – Part 4

A New Chapter Begins

After their emotional confession, Aniruddh and Vedika’s love story truly began. Their bond grew stronger as they worked towards their dreams—Vedika focused on her Kathak academy, and Aniruddh expanded V Publisher.

But challenges still ahead.

Struggles and Sacrifices

Vedika’s academy needed funds, and Aniruddh, despite his growing company, wasn’t financially strong enough to support it entirely. So, he started working extra hours, taking on more publishing projects to earn money. He never told Vedika about his struggles because he didn’t want her to worry.

Vedika, on the other hand, worked tirelessly to gather students and create a training space. But the pressure started affecting her health. One evening, she fainted while practicing.

Aniruddh rushed to her side. "Vedika, you need to take care of yourself!"

She smiled weakly. "I can’t stop now. This is our dream."

Aniruddh held her hand. "Then let’s make it happen together, but not at the cost of your health."

A Dream Fulfilled

After months of hard work, Vedika’s Kathak Academy finally opened. The inauguration event was grand, attended by dancers, students, and even media.

Aniruddh stood beside her, proud and happy. "You did it, Vedika."

She looked at him, eyes full of gratitude. "No, we did it."

As the event ended, Vedika made an announcement. "This academy wouldn’t have been possible without Aniruddh. He has been my biggest supporter, my best friend, and… the love of my life."

The crowd cheered as she held his hand, making their love official in front of everyone.

Aniruddh whispered, "I was going to propose to you today."

Vedika laughed. "Then do it properly."

He knelt down, took out the ring he had kept for so long, and said, "Vedika, will you dance with me for a lifetime?"

With happy tears, she nodded. "Always."

And so, their love story continued—a perfect blend of dreams, love, and Kathak’s heartbeat.
